Several years ago, I found Matilda Jane clothing and ever since then, I have become a wee bit obsessed. Known for their mixed fabrics, layers of ruffles and bold accessories, Matilda Jane offers one-of-a-kind clothing that is as creative and sweet as your darling girl. After all, their main goal is to allow your little one to love what she is wearing and be proud of how she looks.
Released just in time for back to school, Matilda Jane’s newest line is all about character. The Heart Soul Pride line is being released in three different collections (Smile With Pride – August 15, Act With Heart – August 31 and Live With Soul – October 1) and features clothing full of spirit and personality.
“A key guiding principle at MJC is the company’s strong focus on “extreme generosity” and random acts of kindness. As an extension of MJC’s desire to give back (such as to various children’s charities and orphanages, or the company’s pledge with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a deserving family), the company also actively involves its customers in ongoing charitable giving efforts – most recently, MJC asked customers where to donate in its “Spread the Love” initiative. The annual campaign involved surprise giveaways to 100+ deserving families, as well as smaller giveaways to 300 individuals, a $50,000 expression of MJC’s heartfelt thanks to its loyal customer base. “
Just in time for the official arrival of fall, and noticeably cooler weather, Matilda Jane sent Princess P an outfit that is over-the-top cute. The Nora dress, Emmalina shirt and Kaleidoscope pants are all made of different patterns, textures and colors but somehow coordinate together to create an outfit that is simply sweet and perfect for fall.
For cooler weather, the Kaleidoscope pants make for the perfect addition to the Nora dress and Emmalina shirt. These knit pants feature a deep purple background that is “sprinkled” with confetti colors and topped off (or should I say bottomed off?) with big ruffles and ruching detail. Worn with the above mentioned outfit or with another piece or two from your little one’s fall wardrobe, the Kaleidoscope pants are the perfect finishing touch.
I requested all of the pieces in a size 6 for Princess P, even though she is only 4, because she is tall for her age and most size 4 clothing items do not fit her. As I expected, the shirt and dress fit great, with room to grow, and the pants are just a tad too long. However, I rolled them up once at the waist and they became the perfect length. I machined washed all of the pieces (on the gentle cycle) and hung them to dry, and they came out just as they did when I first opened the package. I’m fully confident that Little Miss will be sporting this outfit from Matilda Jane when she is 5 or 6 and it will look just as cute on her as it does Princess P! Despite MJC’s strong online presence – more than 50,000 Facebook fans, a thriving blog, and a website that attracts more than 70,000 unique visitors monthly, the company has bucked the trend and chosen not to have an e-commerce store. MJC sales are made directly though a Trunk Keeper, a representative who gets to know her customers personally. The exclusive sale of clothing by Trunk Keepers is a wonderful direct selling model through which Denise is able to pay forward business opportunities for entrepreneurial women driven by creativity and relationship building.
