When Princess P was a baby, I quickly learned that if I wanted to get something done, she needed to be in a baby carrier strapped to me. And even though this is baby #2, I am thinking the same thing is going happen, especially with a wild toddler running around. However, with so many different carriers on the market today, it’s hard to choose the right one to fit your needs. Plus, many carriers have certain weight and age recommendations that need to be taken into consideration. Or, you can just go with the NORDIC Carrier from lillebaby that grows with you child – from newborn (7lbs) to 42lbs!
Founded in 2001, lillebaby brings together research and functionality in their line of stylish baby products. Created to simplify life with baby and allow you to enjoy everyday life, their products remove the hassle and increase the joy. At lillebaby, their goal is to make your life a whole lot easier by making the best, most functional products possible.
The NORDIC Carrier from lillebaby features an ergonomic design that balances most of baby’s weight on your hips and less on your back and shoulders. For added comfort, the carrier’s shoulder straps are made with extra padding that prevent them from cutting into your skin. The NORDIC Carrier accommodates baby’s ever-growing size with six different positions: Infant Cradle (for use with additional insert that is sold separately), Facing In (Infant Saddle), Facing In (Support Seat), Face Forward, Hip Position and Back Position, and helps avoid muscle stress and injury due to repetitive use. The NORDIC Carrier from lillebaby is the only carrier you and your baby will need!
Recently, we were sent the lillebaby NORDIC Carrier in black to review. Since I am five and a half months pregnant, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to test out all of the positions that the carrier offers, but I couldn’t wait to see how Princess P (who is right at the weight limit) fared in the carrier.
The first carry position we tried out on the NORDIC Carrier was the Back Carry method. I’m not going to lie, Princess P is heavy and I couldn’t imagine carrying her like this for long, but the padded shoulder straps did help with the weight. Also, the waist belt fit my hips great and kept P in place when I moved around. Using this method does requires a bit of twisting, so I did have C help me out. However, I’m sure that when I am not pregnant, I won’t have a problem doing it by myself. The back position is great for older children and is one that I will probably use most when baby #2 gets big enough.
The only other position I could really try with Princess P was the Hip Carry method. For me, this method takes a bit of getting use to, but is somewhat more comfortable than the back position. Getting her in this position, though, took a bit of help (because I am pregnant), but its something I could do on my own when baby #2 gets here. And even though I like this carry method, Princess P wasn’t too happy about it. However, I am sure with a smaller child, it would be fine.
One of the things that I most like about the NORDIC Carrier from lillebaby is that it features an adjustable seat design that supports the correct sitting position for baby’s spine, hip and pelvis growth at each stage. (Narrow seat for infants, wider seat for older babies.) Also, the NORDIC Carrier features a built-in neck support that cradles babies head and lengthens the carriers torso for older children. I only wish that the NORDIC Carrier came with a built-in pocket for cellphones and keys, although you can purchase one separately. Another thing to keep in mind is that for the Infant Cradle position, you have to purchase the Cradle Carrier Insert separately. Overall, the lillebaby NORDIC Carrier is a great option for parents that want a carrier that will take them from infant to toddler.
